Researcher at Gnomon Wise also teaches courses in bachelor’s and master’s programs at the University of Georgia School of Law. Davit Zedelashvili’s academic and research interests include comparative constitutional and public law, human rights, and philosophy of law. His publications and professional commentary cover wide-ranging constitutional theory and practice issues, focusing on the abuse of constitutionalism and the rule of law under illiberal and authoritarian regimes and judicial review under such regimes. Davit Zedelashvili has LL. B from Tbilisi State University and LL.M in Human Rights from Central European University (CEU). During his studies in the SJD program in comparative constitutional law at CEU, he was also a visiting researcher at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law (Ontario, Canada). He held academic positions at the Free University of Tbilisi (Assistant and associate professorships, 2011-2020), served as a senior legal expert for the EU assistance project to the Constitutional Court of Georgia and as a legal advisor at the legal department of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Georgia.
