Marine is a human rights expert and has been working in this field for more than 10 years. Currently, she takes the position of Civil and Political Rights Program Director at the non-governmental organization "Georgian Democracy Initiative" (GDI). Moreover, she is a legal researcher at Global Freedom of Expression, Columbia University. Marine has profound experience in dealing with human rights cases and representing individuals before the Constitutional Court of Georgia and common courts. Simultaneously, she is actively engaged in educational activities and has robust experience in teaching as a trainer and lecturer. For instance, she was a visiting trainer at the Georgian Bar Association and currently teaches at the "Franklin Academy". Beyond her primary work, Marine Kapanadze also holds the role of a national consultant for both the Council of Europe and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). In addition, Marine is the author of numerous articles and other publications. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Law at the Free University of Tbilisi and a Master's Degree in Law at the University of Cologne. Marine is an Alumnus of the Human Rights Advocates Program (HRAP), Columbia University, and the US Professional Fellows Program (PFP). Additionally, she has obtained scholarships from the German Academic Exchange Program (DAAD) and the Swedish Institute (SI).
