On October 24, the presentation of the project "Russia’s Economic Footprint in Georgia – a Tool for Political Influence" took place.
The connection and interdependence between economics and politics are especially intense in small countries, including Georgia. A negative aspect of this issue is that key economic sectors are often controlled by a foreign and frequently unfriendly power or country.
The project presented by the University of Georgia aims to identify Russia’s influence within the Georgian economy and its corresponding impact on the political system and the dynamics of democratic development.
