Students of Journalism and Strategic Communications Participate in the International EJTA Project “Invisible Cities”
Since 2022, students of the Bachelor's Programs in Journalism and Strategic Communications at the University of Georgia have been actively participating in the international student project Invisible Cities, carried out within the framework of EJTA (European Journalism Training Association). The goal of the project is to enhance students’ journalistic skills, raise social responsibility, and promote professional development through the creation of journalistic content focused on vulnerable groups.
University of Georgia students, working alongside peers from other European universities, collaborated in teams on pre-defined topics related to vulnerable communities (e.g., migrants, minorities, and socially disadvantaged groups). As part of the project, students produce in-depth journalistic reports and multimedia video stories, which are later published on the project's official platform: invisible-cities.eu (Invisible Cities – I am invisible because people refuse to see me).
The project is conducted with the involvement of mentors invited from international academic and professional circles, providing participants with high-quality professional feedback. Through this initiative, students develop both individual creative and team-based skills, improve their storytelling and visual communication abilities, and gain valuable practical and international experience.
The Invisible Cities project plays a significant role in students’ professional growth and fosters their development as socially conscious, globally-minded journalists and communicators.
