The Department of Politics and International Relations systematically employs the method of simulation-based learning, which helps students develop practical skills, apply theoretical knowledge in real contexts, and build the competencies necessary for active participation in socio-political processes. Through simulation projects, students develop critical competencies such as negotiation, consensus-building, political process analysis, and crisis response planning.
In recent years, the department has carried out two large-scale simulation projects:
On February 24-25, 2023, the department organized a simulation training titled "Eurointegration: Political Parties and Negotiations." The project aimed to realistically model political processes for students and develop the practical skills necessary for negotiations, reaching consensus, and engaging in political dialogue.
The main objectives of the simulation training were:
To simulate a positive scenario for Georgia’s Eurointegration process;
To identify opportunities for compromise and agreement that would help deepen the process;
To promote consolidation among political forces and society on Eurointegration issues.
During the project, participants took on the roles of political parties and engaged in intensive negotiations. They worked on reaching agreements, defended their party positions, and developed consensus-based decisions. The activity strengthened students’ analytical and communication skills and fostered pluralistic thinking and practical understanding of political processes.
