The publishing house "Diogene" and the University of Georgia invite you to the presentation of Sigmund Freud’s fundamental work, The Interpretation of Dreams.
Sigmund Freud (1856–1939) — the founder of psychoanalysis — published one of his most important works, The Interpretation of Dreams, in 1900 (it was actually printed in November 1899). It is considered that the century of psychoanalysis began with this book. During Freud’s lifetime, The Interpretation of Dreams was published eight times with revised editions. As his theory developed, Freud made corresponding changes to the text. The Georgian edition of the book is a translation of the first 1900 edition — the text with the fewest critical comments and alterations caused by later influences.
Why do we see dreams? What do they tell us? What role does the phenomenon of dreaming play in a person’s psychic life? Freud’s The Interpretation of Dreams is an exhaustive attempt to answer questions that have intrigued humanity since its beginning.
The discussion about the book and the author will be held by:
Maia Badridze, translator;
Nana Burduli — PhD in Psychology, Professor, Head of the Department of Psychology at the University of Georgia, EAGT Gestalt Therapist;
Lela Tqeshelashvili — Lecturer at the University of Georgia, PhD in Psychology;
Tamar Azmaiparashvili — Lecturer at the University of Georgia, Psychoanalyst, Psychotherapist.
At the end of the event, there will be a “NONFICTION” series book exhibition and sale, where books will be available at special discounted prices.
