Students of the Strategic Communications Program Successfully Participate in International Educational Projects
Intercultural Communication and Project Management – EdCom Initiative
Students of the Strategic Communications Program at the University of Georgia took part in the international educational project Intercultural Communication and Project Management, organized by EdCom (European Institute for Commercial Communications Education). The project was held at Yaşar University in Izmir, Turkey, and brought together students and faculty from various European universities.
Working in international teams, the students collaborated with a real client – Doktar Technologies – and completed the following practical tasks:
Planning a research project based on the client’s brief
Conducting a situational analysis
Developing a communication and advertising campaign
The students actively engaged in teamwork, applying their research, analytical, and creative skills, which resulted in the development of a comprehensive communication strategy. The project significantly contributed to the enhancement of students’ intercultural collaboration, professional communication, and practical project management skills in a creative context.
YANMAR Project – Intensive Practical Module in Strategic Communication
Students of the Strategic Communications Program also successfully participated in another international educational project hosted by Yaşar University (Izmir, Turkey), organized within a broad academic partnership framework. The aim of the project was to strengthen students’ practical skills in strategic communication through client-oriented research and the planning of a creative campaign.
During the first stage of the project, students attended intensive masterclasses in strategic communication, followed by a practical phase where they worked on a real communication challenge. Participants received a brief from YANMAR, a Japanese agribusiness brand, and developed a brand positioning strategy based on market analysis. Ultimately, the students created a comprehensive communication campaign that included a strategic vision, media plan, and supporting creative materials.
Participants came from Turkey, Portugal, the Netherlands, Germany, and other countries. Georgian students worked in international teams and collaborated directly with the client’s representatives. At the conclusion of the project, a panel of professionals and YANMAR’s management selected the campaign presented by students of the University of Georgia as the best project, with the brand considering its actual implementation.
This initiative plays a key role in enhancing students’ practical skills in intercultural cooperation, communication, strategic analysis, and creative thinking, while also facilitating their professional integration into the global communications landscape.
