Fifth International Conference - Georgia and the Caucasus – Past, Present, Future

The Tamaz Beradze Institute of Kartvelology at the University of Georgia announces a call for abstracts for the 5th International Scientific Conference titled “Georgia and the Caucasus – Past, Present, Future.” The conference will be held on October 22–23, 2026, at the University of Georgia.

The aim of the conference is to provide a comprehensive and interdisciplinary discussion of the history, culture, and contemporary development of Georgia and the Caucasus.

This scientific forum will create an academic space for researchers, historians, and specialists from various fields to analyze the region’s historical experience, discuss current challenges, and present visions for the future development of the Caucasus. Special attention will be given to the study of historical heritage, regional relations, and the processes shaping the role of Georgia and the Caucasus in the modern global context.

The organizing committee invites researchers, scholars, and doctoral candidates to participate in the conference in the following fields:

  • History, Source Studies, Archaeology
  • Ethnology, Anthropology
  • Philology
  • Cultural Studies, Art History
  • Sociology, Psychology,
  • Philosophy
  • Digital Kartvelology
  • Economics, Business, Law
  • International Relations, Geopolitics

Please note the following important dates:

  • Submission deadline: May 22, 2026
  • Notification of acceptance: no later than June 12, 2026
  • Registration fee payment deadline: August 28, 2026

Important information:

  • Working languages of the conference: Georgian and English
  • Participants must hold a Master’s or Doctoral academic degree
  • Papers must present original research and must not have been previously published or presented at other scientific events
  • Abstracts (300–400 words) must be submitted in both Georgian and English
  • Online participation is available for international participants
  • Registration fee: 70 GEL; for co-authors – 50 GEL

Additional information:

  • Abstracts will be published on the conference website
  • Selected full papers, after double-blind peer review, will be published in the conference proceedings
