Global and regional trends, non-communicable diseases and their risk factors, Open lecture by Prof. Andreas Descartes (University of Heidelberg).

Dr. Andreas Deckert, Senior Scientist and Epidemiologist, leads the research group on non-communicable diseases at the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health, Heidelberg University in Germany. With extensive training in epidemiology and medical informatics, Andreas has deep expertise in chronic non-communicable as well as communicable disease epidemiology, environmental communication, and interdisciplinary research. His work spans across Sub-Saharan Africa, Germany, and Central Asia, contributing to studies on non-communicable diseases, SARS-CoV-2, antimicrobial resistance, HIV, nephrology, and HPV screening.
