announcement
The University of Georgia’s Institute of Georgian, German, and International Criminal Law at the Law School is launching an unprecedented international project, the International Cold Case Project. In this initiative, international students from various countries will work together on real unsolved criminal cases (missing persons, murder) from one of Germany’s regional police departments. Students will have access to the original case materials (under a confidentiality agreement), along with English translations. The project is coordinated by a lecturer from one of Germany’s police academies, and the student teams will meet with them every two weeks to develop ideas regarding the unsolved cases.
The project is fully funded for selected students.
Participation is open to law students from accredited universities in Georgia. Students must have completed their studies in substantive criminal law.
Interested students should submit the following documents by September 15 of this year to the email institute.criminallaw@gmail.com:
During the interview, students’ English proficiency (minimum B2/1 level) and general knowledge of criminal law will be tested.
Upon completion of the course, students will receive certificates, and particularly active participants will have the opportunity to become future team leaders.
