Simulation Exercise on Media Practices for School Students

From October 25–27, the University of Georgia’s School of Social Sciences will host a simulation exercise on media practices for students in grades 10, 11, and 12. The initiative is designed for students interested in how the media operates, the specifics of journalistic work, and, in particular, the standards for reporting news involving children and young people.

Interested students will have the opportunity to attend a series of preparatory seminars, followed by a simulation exercise in which they will put their knowledge into practice.

The seminars will cover the following topics:

  • Media Literacy and Evidence Analysi;
  • Journalistic Ethics and Children’s Rights;
  • Who Is Responsible for Protecting Children in Cases of Violence, and How?

Please note the following participation requirements:

  • Participation is open exclusively to students in grades 10, 11, and 12;
  • Written consent from a parent or legal guardian is required. The consent form will be sent to applicants after they submit their registration;
  • The registration deadline is October 10.

The simulation exercise will take place on October 25–27 at the University of Georgia. Selected participants will be notified individually of the exact meeting time and location.
