The delegation of the Uzbekistan State World Languages University will visit the University of Georgia.

31 March 2026

From March 31 to April 2, an official delegation from the Uzbekistan State World Languages University (UzSWLU) is visiting Georgia. As part of the visit, on April 1, the delegation will hold official meetings at the University of Georgia, aiming to foster multifaceted cooperation between the two countries’ universities.

The delegation is led by the Rector of the university, Dr. Tukhtasinov Ilkhomjon Madaminovich. The delegation also includes the Head of the International Relations Department, Yuldashev Husanboy Ibragimovich, and the Dean of the Faculty of Translation, Dr. Yuldoshev Ulugbek Ravshanbekovich.

Within the framework of the visit, meetings are planned with the Rector of the University of Georgia, the University President, Vice-Rectors, the Director of the School of Arts and Humanities and its representatives, as well as with professors, academic staff, and students. During these meetings, a memorandum of future cooperation between the two universities will be signed.

The memorandum aims to establish a strategic partnership between the two institutions, covering educational, scientific, and cultural fields. Special emphasis will be placed on strengthening Georgian-Uzbek academic cooperation and fostering connections among young people.

One of the key areas of cooperation is the initiation of teaching the Georgian language and culture in Uzbekistan, including the prospect of establishing a Georgian Language Center at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University. This initiative will create a new platform for collaboration between the youth and academic communities of both countries.

The parties will also discuss multilingual translator training programs (Uzbek–Russian–English–Georgian), implemented in accordance with a directive from the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, which places particular importance on partnerships with Georgian universities and the involvement of specialists.

Within the partnership framework, the following activities are planned:

  • Joint scientific and research projects, publications, and co-supervision of doctoral dissertations;
  • Integration of artificial intelligence technologies into the learning process;
  • Joint professional development programs for foreign language teachers (in a hybrid format);
  • Development of joint dual-degree programs;
  • Exchange programs for students, researchers, and academic staff;
  • Winter and summer schools, short-term courses, and cultural-educational programs.

This visit represents an important step in the internationalization process of the University of Georgia and will contribute to expanding its international academic network, creating new educational opportunities, and developing innovative research collaborations.

The University of Georgia continues to strengthen international partnerships and is ready to implement new ideas and initiatives within the framework of long-term cooperation.
