Ismail Serageldin

Ismail Serageldin is the Founding Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA), the new Library of Alexandria. He serves as Chair/Member of a number of advisory committees for academic, research, scientific and international institutions. He has held many important international positions, including Vice President of the World Bank (1992-2000).
He holds a Master's Degree and a Ph.D. from Harvard University and has received over 30 honorary doctorates.
