On October 25, the School of Business and Administrative Sciences of the University of Georgia, in partnership with PMI Georgia and the Business Agility Association, hosted a one-day student hackathon at the Pullman Tbilisi Axis Towers Hotel on the theme “Digital Transformation and Agile Projects.”
Students of the Business Analytics and Technology program worked in teams of five to develop business ideas addressing real-world challenges, utilizing Agile methodologies, data analysis, and presentation skills.
They presented their projects before mentors and jury members, offering solutions for various sectors, including education, healthcare, and transportation.
The event involved representatives from PMI Georgia and the Business Agility Association – Agile professionals – giving participants the opportunity to establish direct communication with industry experts and receive career advice.
During the hackathon, students engaged in the full cycle of business analytics and project management — from product ideation to implementation — encompassing:
* Analysis of Agile project progress and velocity;
* Evaluation of digital transformation effectiveness across different sectors;
* Automation of Project Management Office (PMO) operations;
* Use of AI in project planning;
* Data-driven change management.
Notably, the hackathon brought together both first-year and final-year students, who, in addition to earning well-deserved certificates, gained valuable hands-on experience in business management supported by AI.
