Associate Professor of the School of Arts and Humanities at the University of Georgia, Levan Chabashvili, has been elected as a Corresponding Member of the German Archaeological Institute.
The German Archaeological Institute, founded in 1829, is a scientific organization that carries out research projects in many countries around the world.
Election as a Corresponding Member represents recognition and respect for scholars who maintain particularly close collaboration with the Institute. It is noteworthy that since 2020, the Department of Archaeology, Anthropology, and Art Studies of the School of Arts and Humanities at the University of Georgia has been actively cooperating with the German Archaeological Institute.
The collaboration between the University of Georgia and the German Archaeological Institute provides professional development opportunities for academic staff and promotes joint research projects, a clear example of which is the University of Georgia’s Samshvilde Archaeological Base.
