On July 15 the Capstone Project was held at the University of Georgia as part of the collaboration between the School of Business and Administrative Studies and PMI Georgia.
The primary objective of the project was to provide students with the opportunity to work on real business projects, apply the theoretical knowledge they had acquired in practice, and develop the practical skills required for effective project management.
The project involved senior undergraduate students. During the initial planning stage, students completed a survey to identify their professional and industry interests. Based on the survey results and students' preferences, PMI Georgia selected the partner companies and projects best suited to their interests. The participating companies included Tegeta Motors, Idea Development, Kursi.ge, and Tbilisi Heart Center.
Working in small teams, students addressed real business cases and projects provided by the partner companies. Throughout the process, they collaborated closely with company representatives, conducted analyses, and developed practical recommendations. Their findings were presented as their bachelor's thesis presentations.
"Before the practical phase of the project began, PMI Georgia organized a series of training sessions to prepare students for effective project work and help them develop the practical skills required for project management. These trainings introduced students to the fundamental principles of project management and enabled them to apply their knowledge in a real-world context. Within the framework of the Capstone Project, the students' work also served as their bachelor's theses. The project gave them the opportunity to base their research on real business challenges and present their findings in a practical, business-oriented context," shared Maia Amashukeli, Director of the School of Business and Administrative Studies.
