The cooperation between the University of Georgia and George Washington University is entering a new stage, the George Washington University delegation paid an official visit to the University of Georgia:
During the visit, the parties discussed in detail the academic, administrative, and organizational aspects of the joint dual-degree master’s program and outlined the next steps for further cooperation.
We are especially proud that, for the first time in Georgia, a dual-degree master’s program of this kind in the field of education will be implemented at the University of Georgia. This will set an important precedent for Georgian higher education and mark another step toward strengthening the University of Georgia’s position in the international academic community.
Within the framework of the program, students will spend one year studying in Georgia at the University of Georgia and the second year in the United States at George Washington University. Upon successful completion of the program, they will receive two diplomas.
This is a particular source of pride for the University of Georgia, as our university is creating the first opportunity of this kind in the field of education in Georgia, offering Georgian students a unique chance to become part of the academic communities of both universities. During the meeting, a number of other important joint initiatives were also planned, including academic and research projects, exchange opportunities for faculty members and students, international events, and new areas of cooperation.
