From February 2 to 6, the University of Georgia hosted Innovation Week, bringing together around 400 students from public and private schools (grades 10–12). Participants received insights into future professions and learned about fields transforming today’s labor market, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, game development, smart devices, and game design. They were also introduced to the University of Georgia’s 14 newly accredited undergraduate programs.
As noted by Rector Konstantine Topuria, the university is positioning itself as a regional technological ecosystem hub, offering students hands-on experience through workshops, discussions, and direct interaction with industry professionals.
The week followed the full accreditation of the new programs in cybersecurity, engineering, and artificial intelligence, marking a significant step toward strengthening technological education.
The closing day was highlighted by the awarding of the Honorary Scientist title to Mr. Sergo Tsiramua, Director of the Institute of Informatics, in recognition of his long-standing contribution to the university.
