A joint one-month international educational project between the University of Georgia and Tomas Bata University (Czech Republic), titled “Intercultural Communication Marathon,” has been successfully completed for Strategic Communications students.
The project focused on analyzing intercultural communication and concluded with an academic “marathon,” where student teams presented their research and analytical work. Throughout the module, students collaborated on real, diverse contexts—examining communication styles across cultures, identifying barriers and misunderstandings, and exploring effective strategies to overcome them.
The initiative emphasized how communication varies across cultures and how this impacts both professional and everyday environments. It also provided students with valuable international, practice-based experience aligned with modern Western standards, while strengthening their teamwork, networking, and self-development skills.
Overall, such projects reflect the University of Georgia’s commitment to practice-oriented education, helping students better adapt to real-world professional environments.
