On December 13, 2017 Department of History, School of Art and Humanities, the University of Georgia organized a special meeting of the UG students and professors with the founder of ‘SARAH Foundation’ (Israel) Mr. Reuven ben Shemesh and representatives of ‘Israeli House’. Tsira Chikvaidze – Head of the Department of History presented programs and activities of the department. Mr. Reuven ben Shemesh presented mission and goals of ‘SARAH Foundation’.
Mr. Reuven ben Shemesh declared that next three academic years ‘SARAH Foundation’ in cooperation with ‘Israeli House’ will fund all expenses of the UG excellent students’ visit to the World Holocaust Remembrance Center - Yad Vashem, Jerusalem. These students should have the highest grades in the course: “Holocaust and Genocide in Vishegrad Group Countries”, and work on this issue. Next two students, in top three, will receive a ‘SARAH stipend’ of 400 and 200 Georgian Lari.
