The publication examines the history of Russian occupation in Georgia from 1801 to the present day. It presents the mechanisms through which imperial power was established, as well as the political, social, and cultural consequences of occupation, and its impact on Georgian national identity and public life.
The book covers one of the most significant and complex periods in Georgian history—the process of Russian occupation from 1801 to the present. It analyzes the establishment of imperial authority, the outcomes of occupation across multiple dimensions, and its lasting influence on Georgian society.
The work represents an important contribution to the study of Georgian history and occupation. As the author notes:
"It will be of interest both to academic circles and the wider public, as the book discusses Russia–Georgia relations and evaluates information presented in international sources, allowing for a more objective assessment." — Dodo Chumburidze
As part of the presentation, a public discussion was held, where the issue of Russian occupation was examined from various perspectives—historical, political, legal, and socio-cultural contexts.
