On April 21st, The University of Georgia was honored to host H.E. Ambassador of Lithuania to Georgia, Mr. Andrius Kalindra, for a public lecture and university tour. During his visit, Ambassador Kalindra delivered a lecture on the relationship, friendship, and future goals between Lithuania and Georgia, which was attended by academic staff and students of the University.
Ambassador Kalindra emphasized the importance of building strong ties between Lithuania and Georgia. He also discussed the importance of Georgia's potential accession to the European Union. The Ambassador also delved into the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, providing valuable insights into the geopolitical landscape of the region. Following the lecture, the students had the opportunity to engage in a question-and-answer session with the Ambassador, where they asked him about a range of topics.
After the lecture, Ambassador Kalindra went on a tour of the University and met with the Rector of the University of Georgia, Konstantine Topuria. During their meeting, they discussed potential areas for future collaboration between Lithuania and the University, including student exchange programs.
