The Head of the Microbial Genetics and Ecology Laboratory at the One Health Institute of the School of Science and Technology at the Georgian University, Dr. Tinatin Elbakidze, successfully completed an academic visit to China at the invitation of Dr. Yu-Wei Tang, Honorary Academic Dean of the College of Public Health at Chongqing Medical University.
Held from June 28 to July 18, the visit focused on strengthening scientific collaboration between the two institutions in the field of One Health. Dr. Elbakidze delivered presentations at international symposia, participated in institutional meetings in Qinghai Province and Chongqing, and conducted a two-week intensive training course in bioinformatics for academic staff and students.
The visit concluded with the development of a joint research project proposal and further expanded the partnership between the universities. In addition, the results of collaborative research conducted by the One Health Institute and Dr. Tang's research team have been submitted for publication in the international scientific journal Frontiers in Microbiology.
