From 11–15 May 2026, four representatives of the University of Georgia (UG) participated in a Training of Trainers (ToT) on Community Engagement (CE) and Community-Engaged Learning (CEL) in higher education, organised within the framework of the Erasmus + ENHANCE-GSL project. The training was hosted by Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia.
The training aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills to independently design, deliver and evaluate training programmes on CE and CEL, as well as to develop the pedagogical and facilitation competencies needed to train other university staff and students.
Through interactive sessions, micro-teaching activities, discussions with trainers and visits to local community organisations and educational centres, the UG representatives strengthened their expertise and gained practical experience in applying community engagement approaches in higher education.
The training was delivered by experts from Matej Bel University and the University of Rijeka. The knowledge and skills gained will support the University of Georgia in strengthening its community engagement activities and building institutional capacity for sustainable university–community cooperation.
