The School of Law team of the University of Georgia is the first in country to win an INADR Mediate’19- International Mediation Competition. UGLS received a winning prize and was acknowledged as the best advocate-client team too. The University of Georgia, as the winning team, was funded by INADR to participate in the next Mediation Competition in U.S.
It’s worth to mention that UG received individual prizes:
· Top Individual Mediator;
· The best Advocate-Client duo.
The University of Georgia appreciates the hard work of the UGLS team students: Enri Abuladze, Mariam Pirtskhaliashvili, Irakli Bitskinashvili, Mari Sharadze, and coaches: Nata Sturua- Associate Professor of UG and Ana Khurtsidze- Director of the School of Law.
Not a single competitor from Georgia was able to get the hands on the winning prize so UGLS made history for our law school, UG and most importantly our Country.
INADR competition is held annually and is designed to help students understand the value of resolving disputes through mediation so that they can apply it in their personal and professional lives. Top universities from U.S and Europe battle each other in the mediation competition.
The School of Law of the University of Georgia supports and finances students to participate in various international competitions and to be trained by Georgian and American couches, which amounts to their success in international competition.
The University of Georgia finances approximately 8 international competitions per year.
