UGLS will participate in several international moot competitions during the 2018-2019 academic year.

Currently, we are selecting the teams for these three competitions:
John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition on WTO Law (formerly EMC2) Competitors argue a novel point of WTO law in front of a WTO Panel. This is a very unique area of law, and a great way to learn about (and possibly start a career in) trade law. Last year our team went to Naples, Italy. We are the only Georgian university to compete in this world-wide competition!
Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (Vis Moot) This is the largest commercial law moot competition in the world hosting over 300 teams from more than 70 countries every year. The team will receive intensive training and guidance to submit written memoranda on the moot problem and then, prepare for oral presentations to be held in Vienna in late March.
Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition (Jessup) This is the world's largest moot competition, with participants from over 680 law schools in 100 countries and jurisdictions. The Competition is a simulation of a fictional dispute between countries before the International Court of Justice.
Once teams are selected, they will regularly meet to prepare for their competitions. These are very challenging competitions, but are very rewarding. This is a great way to gain valuable experience and enhance your CV. This will also greatly improve your English skills.
