Students of the Journalism Program at University of Georgia participated in the international project “Invisible Cities,” which was held in Zagreb, Croatia.
The project was implemented within the framework of the collaboration between the School of Social Sciences at University of Georgia and European Journalism Training Association, bringing together students and mentors from various European universities. Participants worked in international teams on creating video stories under the mentorship of European journalists.
The main theme of the project focused on the stories of “invisible people” — individuals whose experiences often remain outside the public spotlight due to stereotypes, social labels, and preconceived attitudes. Within the framework of the project, students Linda Davitadze and Tamar Shiukashvili worked on highlighting these stories and raising public awareness through visual journalism and storytelling.
It is noteworthy that participation in the project was fully funded by the School of Social Sciences at University of Georgia, further demonstrating the university’s commitment to providing students with opportunities to gain practical knowledge in an international, real-world environment.
