The great Books-LITR1212
He received and deepened his philological, philosophical and theological education in Tbilisi, Prague and Rome. He is a doctor of philology (Georgia, Czech Republic) and philosophy (Italy); he received a special diploma in spiritual theology at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome. Since 1984 he teaches at various universities in Georgia and Europe. He was a professor at Ilia State University (2006-2011) and Free University of Tbilisi (2011-2021). From 2021- professor of University of Georgia. He is the author of more than 200 articles and 15 books, and the editor of 40 books on literature, culture and religion. He is the editor of the annuals: “Tsakhnagi/Facet: Annual of Philological Studies” and “Catholic Heritage in Georgia”. The field of his expertise are: history of Georgian literature, history of European literature, theory of literature, Georgian historiography, history of Church, cultural studies, religious studies, intellectual history, philosophy, theology.
