Dr. Giorgi Matiashvili, MD, is a dedicated Psychiatrist currently serving as the Community Services (CMHMTs and Outpatient) Multidisciplinary Teams' Coordinator at the Rustavi Mental Health Center. He studied at Tbilisi State Medical University and continued his post-graduate education, specializing in Psychiatry, which deepened his expertise in the field. During his residency years in psychiatry, he honed his skills through diverse clinical experiences, including inpatient, outpatient, and Community Mental Health Mobile Teams (CMHMTs). This hands-on exposure allowed him to develop a holistic approach to patient care, addressing various diagnoses and contributing to the organizational aspects of healthcare delivery. Dr. Matiashvili is not only a committed clinician but also a passionate educator. He shares his knowledge and insights with the next generation of medical professionals as an invited lecturer at the University of Georgia and Tbilisi State Medical University. He finds great fulfillment in mentoring and guiding students in their pursuit of excellence in the field of psychiatry. As a member of prominent local and international professional societies, including the Association of Georgian Psychiatrists and the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology, Dr. Matiashvili actively engages in ongoing learning and knowledge enhancement. He regularly participates in international congresses, workshops, and courses to stay at the forefront of psychiatry. Dr. Matiashvili's passion for clinical research is evident in his contributions to the scientific community. He has presented his research findings at international forums, further advancing the understanding and treatment of mental health issues.
