Maia Merlani - Invited Lecturer - leads a lecture course in medical chemistry. She holds an academic doctorate degree in chemistry from I. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. She is a senior researcher at the Kutateladze Institute of Pharmacochemistry, Tbilisi State Medical University. She has many years of teaching and research experience at several universities in Georgia, and has published 66 publications, including 31 in international refereed journals with a high impact factor. Maia Merlani has experience working as a visiting scientist at universities and research centers in Japan, Greece, and the USA. In 2024, she was awarded the I. Kutateladze Prize of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences. He is a Georgian President's Scholar for Young Scientists (1997), a Matsumae International Foundation Scholar (Japan, 2013), and a Fulbright Scholar (USA, 2018). Google Scholar - over 550 citations, H-index - 13.
