Economic Growth and Development-ECON4113
Giorgi Orkodashvili is a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Georgia, where he teaches the course Economic Growth and Development. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University (ISET).
Giorgi has extensive professional experience in development policy and international development programs. He has managed multi-million USD development initiatives in the South Caucasus region, focusing on economic growth, environmental policy, and sustainable development.
Currently, Giorgi serves as Liaison Officer for Georgia at the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the world’s largest climate fund, where he supports climate investment and financing initiatives in Georgia. Previously, he worked at the USAID Mission in Georgia in the Economic Growth Office as a Program Manager, at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) as an Environment and Climate Change Programme Coordinator, and at CENN as a Team Leader and Project Manager.
His academic and professional interests include economic development, environmental economics, institutional development, and policies that promote sustainable growth in developing countries.
