Teona Bichashvili is a clinical pharmacist, Master of Pharmacy, and Head of the Clinical Pharmacy Department at American Hospital Tbilisi. The hospital represents an innovative development in Georgian healthcare and is among the country’s first institutions to implement an integrated clinical pharmacy system. Since its opening, Teona has contributed to establishing and developing this system in alignment with international patient-safety and JCI standards. From 2009 to 2021, she worked as a Hospital Pharmacist and Institutional Review Board member at the National Center for Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases, and from 2017 to 2020 as a Clinical Trial Pharmacist with Médecins Sans Frontières. She was an NIH Fogarty Fellow in the Emory–Georgia TB Research Training Program from 2016 to 2018. Her interests include medication safety, pharmacotherapy optimization, pharmacovigilance, antimicrobial stewardship, and tuberculosis treatment. She was first author of a 2019 abstract, an acknowledged contributor to a 2022 TBnet study, and a TBnet collaborator in a 2023 multicountry study.
