George Bakhturidze is an Associate Professor at the University of Georgia in the School of Health Sciences. He teaches courses on health promotion and behaviour changes. He holds a master's degree in biology and ecology from Kutaisi State University (Georgia), as well as a master's degree in health policy and promotion from the University of Bergen (Norway), where he also completed a doctoral course in the same discipline and defended a doctoral dissertation in 2017. He has undertaken an internship at the Institute for Health Metric and Evaluation of the University of Washinton, Seattle. He has experience in various fields, including tobacco control, physical activity, nutrition, immunization, tuberculosis, HIV, and public health regulations. He has organised informational and communication campaigns, educational training programs, policy formulation, legal regulation, studies and media advocacy in the above-mentioned fields, both in Georgia and abroad.
