Manana Machitidze, MD, Ph.D.(c), graduated from Tbilisi State Medical University's Faculty of Pediatrics and worked as a neonatologist and pediatrics instructor. She completed Nurse-TOT and Nurse-Leader training at Emory University (2009–2010) and has been a clinical mentor and lecturer at the University of Georgia (UG) since 2010. In 2016, she became a clinical practice coordinator and lecturer. She is actively contributing to developing postgraduate nursing education. She is the Education Department Coordinator at the Georgian Nurses Association. She is a Ph.D. student at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU), researching the impact of nurses' knowledge and attitudes on safe medication administration. She is involved in improving nursing education and policy development; she has served on the Sectoral Council of Higher Education in Obstetrics and the Nursing Higher Education Development Council. She has authored and co-authored two books and multiple articles on nursing education and workforce challenges. With nearly a decade of research on nursing development, she has analyzed key barriers and proposed evidence-based solutions. Her international collaborations include research with Israeli, EU, and U.S. universities. She contributed to evaluating the Student Nursing Training Program on Telenursing Through Simulation (Israel) project. In 2023, she received a state scientific grant for fundamental research for her study on patient safety education. She is a member of Georgia's Nursing Protocols and Guidelines Development Team and participates in global and local conferences. With extensive expertise in international projects, she actively works to enhance nursing competencies and patient safety worldwide.
