Nikoloz Pruidze is a certified surgeon, doctor of medical sciences, professor. He defended his dissertation at the A. Bakuleev Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery (Moscow, USSR) and received a PhD degree. After defending his second dissertation at the Tbilisi State Medical University (Georgia) he was awarded with the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences. N. Pruidze has thirty-two years of experience in teaching and researching. He worked as an assistant professor at the Department of Hospital Surgery of TSMU, associate professor and professor of the Surgery Department No. 1 of TSMU. He lectured, practiced and participated in various scientific conferences. 2004-2010 He worked as First Deputy Minister of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia. 2006 - 2009 he was elected as a member of the Standing Committee of the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe. He published 35 research articles. On March 11, 2017, Nikoloz Pruidze was elected as an assistant professor of surgery at the School of Health Sciences at the University of Georgia. He has also been appointed as a head of board of the doctoral program in medicine. He is a practicing surgeon. Currently, he is actively involved in the treatment of surgical infections by bacteriophages.
