Marine Shavlakadze –PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering since 2011. She has been a senior researcher at Tsotne Mirtckhulava Water Management Institute of the Georgian Technical University since 2008. She is holding the position of Assoc. Professor and Head of the Center for Research and Development at the Faculty of Health of Tbilisi Humanitarian Training University. She is the author and co-author of 40 scientific papers. The participant and organizer of various international scientific conferences (more than 20). Principal investigator and key personnel of 11 scientific grant projects; has participated in 11 international trainings. Marine Shavlakadze has been the Deputy Chairman of the Young Scientists Council at the Georgian National Academy of Sciences in 2014-2024. Organizer of 7 young scientists’ conferences at the Georgian National Academy of Sciences and an editor of the abstracts of the Young Scientists’ Conferences. Marine Shavlakadze has great deal of experience in water and soil research, as well as in the study of water and soils contaminated with industrial waste, that is evidenced by the publications and participation in grant projects. Marine Shavlakadze has been cooperating with the Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences (Poland) since 2014.In 2014, Marine Shavlakadze won a 3-month Professor Stanislaw Tolpa scholarship for young scientists in Wroclaw, Poland for the 2014/2015 academic year (1 - 3 months 07.01.2014-06.04.2014). In 2014-2015 she won a grant project of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation for young scientists, to do research abroad, # YS / 40 / 10-170 / 14 “The research of the potential of manganese containing materials derived from industrial waste in chemical amelioration of soils”, that was implemented at the Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences, Institute of Soil Science, Plant Nutrition and Environment. Marine Shavlakadze was also involved in the Polish grant project "The influence of different soil factors on pesticides degradation and changes" as a supporting personnel (for 6 months) at the same university. The principal investigator of the project was Irmina Ćwieląg-Piasecka. Since 2022, Marine has been involved in the Polish grant project "Water and wastewater management, wastewater re-use systems" headed by Katarzyna Pawęska, Professor at the Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences.
