Georgia University Students Successfully Worked on Eurovision and LEGO Global Campaigns
Students from Georgia University’s Strategic Communications program successfully participated in two prestigious international competitions, where they worked on communication campaigns for world-renowned brands—the Eurovision Song Contest and the LEGO Group.
Georgia University became the first and only higher education institution from Georgia to participate in these competitions with its own student teams. This marked the first time Georgian students competed alongside leading European universities and collaborated directly with global brands.
Five students from Georgia University’s Strategic Communications program were selected to participate in the international team project organized by PR ARENA, aimed at promoting the Eurovision Song Contest to Generation Z audiences. The students worked as a team alongside representatives from 10 European universities, mentored by 11 European PR professionals.
Training sessions were led by Dr. Raluca Moises, a professor at the University of the Arts London, and Dr. Odra Dirs-Lowson, a professor at Kristiania University College in Norway. The students developed creative communication strategies, underwent training in international crisis management, and presented their ideas before a jury.
The winning team attended the Eurovision final concert, while the teams placing second and third received opportunities to participate in masterclasses led by international experts. All participants were awarded certificates and special prizes.
Another group of five students from Georgia University successfully took part in a pan-European communication competition, working directly with one of the world’s largest brands, the LEGO Group. Within the project framework, the students developed a full-scale communication and creative campaign based on their country, which included:
Working on the LEGO brief
Researching the target audience
Creating campaign concepts and media plans
Producing visual materials
The students’ work was evaluated by a jury of 40 European PR professionals, and the winning team’s campaign was implemented by LEGO.
Winners were also invited to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity—one of the world’s most prestigious creative events.
Participation in both competitions provided Georgia University’s Strategic Communications students with a unique opportunity to:
Work on real projects with international brands
Develop professional skills for the global market
Gain experience in international teamwork and modern communication practices
Georgia University proudly celebrates its students’ outstanding achievements on the international stage and will continue to create platforms where young talents can showcase their skills and professional potential globally.
