On May 10, a discussion was held on the topic: "What Do We Know About the Composition of Drugs?"
In club spaces and music festivals, drug use among young people is increasingly common. However, most users lack information about the health effects or the chemical composition of the substances they consume.
The types, names, and compositions of drugs on the black market change constantly. When the exact contents of a substance are unknown, it's impossible to assess its health risks or determine a "safe dose."
To reduce harm in such situations, many EU countries have introduced drug checking practices—centers where users can test the composition of drugs intended for personal use.
In Georgia, there are currently no state-funded drug-checking centers, but several independent initiatives exist—organizations that help users understand the contents of the substances they consume.
