On November 8–9, to mark the 900th anniversary of King David the Builder’s reign, the University of Georgia will host an international conference titled “Georgia and the Caucasus – Past, Present, Future.”
In collaboration with Goethe University Frankfurt, the Tamaz Beradze Institute of Kartvelology is organizing the conference for the third consecutive time. This annual academic forum brings together researchers working both in Georgia and abroad whose fields of study focus on Caucasiology and Kartvelology. Notably, this year’s conference will include the presentation of a research segment featuring the screening of a documentary film about King Demetrius, directed by Toma Chagelishvili.
Within the framework of the conference, invited speakers will present papers in the following fields: history, source studies, archaeology, ethnology, anthropology, philology, culturology, art studies, sociology, psychology, philosophy, digital Kartvelology, economics, international relations, geopolitics, and their subdisciplines. This diversity grants the forum a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary character, underscoring its academic and institutional significance.
