University of Georgia Law School and ADREE - Alternative Dispute Resolution Center Announce Registration for Commercial Mediation Training
6 August 2024

The University of Georgia Law School, in collaboration with ADREE - Alternative Dispute Resolution Center, is pleased to announce the registration for the Commercial Mediation Training program.

This unique opportunity is intended for:

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s students of the University of Georgia Law School
  • All law undergraduates who wish to continue their studies at the master's level at the University of Georgia Law School in the 2024/2025 academic year.

Participants interested in the training must have a high level of proficiency in English.

The aim of the training is to prepare students for international mediation competitions, which are fully funded by the University of Georgia Law School. Participants selected for these competitions will be chosen through an interview process following the training.

The three-day training preparation program is based on a decade of successful international experience and includes a training module focused on developing the skills of mediators and parties involved in the mediation process. The training includes participation in simulated sessions to develop practical skills and competencies.

Upon successful completion of the training, participants will receive a certificate, and selected students will continue with additional preparation for international mediation competitions.

The trainers for the program are:

  • Nata Sturua: Researcher at the Austrian Blockchain Center, lawyer, mediator, associate professor at the University of Georgia, and curator of the Mediation Clinic.
  • Ana Khurtsidze: Mediator, Dean of the University of Georgia Law School, member of the UN Global Mediation Panel, and elected president of INADR - International Academy of Dispute Resolution (USA).

The training will be held from 10-12 September at the University of Georgia Law School. Training hours are from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The number of participants is limited, and selection will be based on a competitive process.

Interested applicants should send their CV and a motivational video explaining in English why they wish to participate in the mediation training and what they know about commercial mediation to ugls@ug.edu.ge by 3 September 2024. The video should not exceed 2 minutes.

We wish you the best of luck!
