The International Cold Case Project is announcing the third intake for students interested in criminal justice in an international online project

It is announced the third stream admission, in a unique, international online-project in Georgian educational space, for students interested in criminal law!

International Cold Case Project is an international project, in which involved are students from different countries and they jointly work on real unsolved criminal cases (disappearance of a person, murder, etc.) of one of the regions of Germany’s police. Students have access to criminal case materials (under condition of confidentiality) in the form of English translations. The project is coordinated by a lecturer of one of Germany’s police academies and exactly with him periodic online meetings will be held.

The project entirely online is carried out during October–March period and members of student teams, on average once in two weeks, with each other or with the German coordinator hold meetings and develop ideas regarding unsolved cases.

This implies, among other things, also periodically preparation of essays and reports.

Georgia, in 2024, for the first time was invited into this project and its partner is exactly the Institute of Georgian, German and International Criminal Law.

Georgian students will be supervised by Prof. Bachana Jijskariani.

Since the number of places is limited, the selection will take place in two stages:

-screening of documents

-interview

Documents to be submitted until 5 October of current year, in Georgian or English language, to the institute’s email – institute.criminallaw@gmail.cominstitute.criminallaw@gmail.com (in the subject field indicate ICCAP):

-CV with photo

-Motivation letter

Transcript of last two semesters’ grades (it is sufficient the transcript taken from student’s e-base without stamp).

The contestant must have passed Substantive Criminal Law, Special Part 1 (Crimes against humanity).

At the interview, orally will be checked knowledge of English (at least B2/1 level) and general knowledge in the direction of criminal law.

Participation in the competition can every law faculty student in Georgia, from the relevant semester (Bachelor, Master).

Students will also receive corresponding certificates, and especially active students will have opportunity to become in the future leaders of new teams.

Participation in the project is completely free and it is compatible with study schedule.
