Guram Dochanashvili

profesor

Guram Dochanashvili was born on 26th of March, 1939 in Tbilisi, Georgia. He is the Georgian writer, winner of Georgian Literary Award SABA for outstanding contribution. 

He has graduated from 61st Secondary School and at the same time from the Musical Academy too. He has been accepted at Tbilisi State University, Department of History. He was actively involved in archaeological expeditions. 

Having graduated from the Tbilisi State University, he worked for the Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnography, and participated in several archaeological expeditions. 

He was the head of the prose section of the literary magazine “Mnatobi”. Herewith, he was heading prose division in Georgia Writers Association. From 1985 he was the editor of “Georgian Movie”. 

Dochanashvili debuted as a writer in 1961. His most popular work is the 1975 novel “The First Garment”, A Man Who Loved Literature, etc.
