Incoming Exchange Students



Application


 Studentsapplying for an exchangesemester at UG should submit the following documents:

ü Copy of passport

ü Transcript of records in the English language (Evaluation sheet from home institution)

ü Previous education certificate (High School Diploma for bachelors students; Bachelors Degree for Masters students)

ü Filled out Learning Agreement (Please download here)

ü 3X4 Biometric Picture

 

The University of Georgia will only review the applications of the nominated students.

The deadlinefor submission of applicationsis July 15th.

Course catalogue


You can find the list of English language taught courses on the following link:

Students can select courses from different study programs; however, all selected courses must correspond to the students current study level (only undergraduate-level subjects or only graduate-level subjects).

 

The filled-out learning agreement must be submitted in the Word format, without signatures.

 

We will determine the preliminary availability  of the selected courses and make changes if necessary. The final availability  will be determined shortly before the beginning of the exchange semester.

2024-2025 Spring Semester:

 

All undergraduate exchange students (except for Medical and Law programs)

Start of the semester - October, 2024

End of the classes - January, 2025

Final exams - January & February 2025

 

Medical Students

Start of the semester - October, 2024

End of the classes - January, 2025

Final exams - January & February 2025

 

Undergraduate Law students

Start of the semester - September, 2024

End of the classes - December, 2024

Final exams - January, 2025

 

 All graduate exchange students:

Start of the semester - October, 2024

End of the classes - January, 2025

Final exams - February, 2025

 

 

*if the student needs to retake or make-up the final exams, they will have to stay in Georgia after the final exams


Visa and transportation

The closest airport is the Tbilisi International Airport. Information about the transportation from the airport and within Tbilisi is available here: http://ttc.com.ge/en

 

The public transport (includes subway, bus and mini-bus) fares are the following:

 

ü  1 GEL - 90 minutes unlimited travel

ü  3 GEL - 1-day unlimited travel *

ü  20 GEL - 1-week unlimited travel

ü  40 GEL - 1-month unlimited travel *

ü  100 GEL - 3 months unlimited travel

ü  150 GEL - 6 months unlimited travel

ü  250 GEL - 1-year unlimited travel *

 

The students can also obtain the Bank of Georgia's Student Card once they arrive in Georgia, which will allow them to use public transportation at the rate of 0.2 GEL per ride. This card also offers various special offers and discounts for students. Student cards are free to all active students in Georgia. Cost of Living


Average cost of living in Tbilisi is 900-1100GEL (300-400EUR) without rent per month.

This includes transport, food, and recreation. The estimated cost of housing in Tbilisi is 800-1500GEL (290-450 EUR) depending on the location of the housing.

The University of Georgia does not currently offer its own housing; however, we are happy to assist students in finding suitable accommodation if they request it.
