Delegation of the School of Health Sciences of the University of Georgia consisting of the Director of the School Tamar Lobjanidze, Head of the Residency Training Direction Elza Nikoleishvili, Head of the Pharmacy Department Marina Darakhvelidze, Head of the Clinical Direction of the Department of Medicine Anano Kiria, Associate Professor Tamar Goderidze participated in the annual conference of the Association of Medical Schools in Europe, which was held in 2022 October 6-8, in Adjara (Kvariati), hosted by Davit Tvildiani Medical University.
The event was attended by European and international institutions important for the development of the field, including World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), European University Association - Council for Doctoral Education (EUA-CDE), The Organization for Ph. D. Education in Biomedicine and Health Sciences in Europe (ORPHEUS), International Federation of Medical Student Associations (IFMSA) and others. Internationally recognized experts and leaders in the field of undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, doctoral education and healthcare in general were presented as speakers.
Head of the Clinical Direction of the Department of Medicine Anano Kiria presented a report “Involving medical students in pilot research projects. Lessons from the field”. The topic was related to the results of the pilot educational project implemented in the UG partner clinic within the framework of the English-language program of medicine.
Participation in the event gave the delegates opportunity to get acquainted with and share the experience of European and Georgian medical schools in the field of education quality development, to hear opinions and valuable advice of international experts, which will have a positive impact on the school's activities in the future.
