European Public Health Week EUPHW-2023

On the initiative and organization of the School of Health Sciences of the University of Georgia the European Public Health Week EUPHW-2023 was celebrated.

On May 22, Mental Health Day was celebrated within the week.

Nana Zavradashvili, associate professor at the University of Georgia, conducted an informative and educational meeting on the topic "Mental health and its latest perspectives". Mariam Kutateladze, medical psychologist of the Clinical Oncology Institute participated in the meeting, who spoke about the importance of mental health of cancer patients and their support. Khatia Taturashvili, a student at the University of Georgia, shared her experience about the importance and challenges of mental health of people with disabilities to the participants of the meeting. Students of the University of Georgia presented the material they prepared on mental health.

May 25 was dedicated to the topic of chronic disease prevention and control.

Ana Bolkvadze, clinical director of Consilium Medula clinic, held a public lecture on "Chronic diseases and screening as the best control tool". The speaker informed the audience about the importance of prevention of chronic diseases, the progress of the screening program in Georgia and the opportunities to get involved in it. Students of the University of Georgia presented the material prepared by them on the topic of the day and participated in the discussion.
