Within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, the Università degli Studi della Tuscia (UNITUS) and the University of Georgia (UG) exchange program for students and professors was financed. This project is a good opportunity for students and professors of the School of Science and Technology (UGSST) in the modern University of Viterbo, an ancient city in Italy, to gain new knowledge and experience.
Viterbo is the northernmost province of Lazio, in the heart of Italy, located 100 km from Rome and 200 km from Florence. Tushia University was founded in 1979 and quickly established itself as a modern university. It is a center of culture and learning in the province of Viterbo that offers local and international students a wide variety of courses in different specialties.
In December 2022, the University of Georgia was visited by Prof. Stefano Ubertini - Rector of Tushi University; Prof. Simone Severini – Vice Rector for International Relations, Professor Massimiliano Fenice – Head of the Department of Ecology and Biology and Angela Fattoretti – Head of the International Relations Office.
At the meeting, the successful cooperation with Tushi University within the framework of previous Erasmus+ projects (modernization of environmental education programs of Armenia and Georgia) was emphasized, which serves as a good basis for further partnership in various directions and may develop into various joint projects and activities. UG hopes to expand the scope of cooperation with Tushi University and Open to any kind of initiative and partnership in this regard.
KA171 is a new opportunity for Georgian-Italian educational and scientific cooperation in the form of UNITUS and UG.
