From May 13 to 16, the administration of the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Georgia paid a working visit to Turkey.
On May 14, at Black Sea Technical University (Trabzon), the Georgian delegation attended a public seminar titled "Archival Turkological Research in Georgia", led by Tea Meshvelishvili, Associate Professor at the University of Georgia. The meeting addressed key issues related to the history and current challenges of Georgian Turkology.
As part of the visit, a memorandum of cooperation was signed with Yildiz Technical University on May 16. The agreement includes the exchange of students and academic staff, the implementation of joint projects, and other scientific activities. The School of Arts and Humanities will also develop joint English-language master’s and doctoral programs in Turkology. During the visit, meetings were held with the Vice-Rector of Yildiz Technical University, Prof. Ahmet Göksel Ağargün, the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Ali Fuat Arıcı, the Deputy Dean, Prof. Özkan Safsağlam, and the Second Deputy Dean, Prof. Elif Bahadır.
