On October 4-6, 2023, was held the second annual meeting of the Emory-Georgia Clean Air Research and Education Project (#49777-NCDC). The meeting was attended by experts from Emory and George Washington universities, representatives of the Environmental Protection Office of the French Ministry of Health of France, National Environmental Agency of Georgia, the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health of Georgia, the academic staff of the School of Health Sciences of the University of Georgia and the Medical University, students of the Doctoral Program in Public Health of the School of Health Sciences.
This is the second year that the University of Georgia has been cooperating with the team of the Fogarty Clean Air Research and Education (CARE) program. The program is a strategic collaboration between Georgia's National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC), the National Environmental Agency, Emory and George Washington Universities. The goal of the project is to develop the capacity to conduct research related to non-communicable diseases and environmental health in Georgia through trainings, education and practice.
During the workshop, doctoral students of the Doctoral Program in Public Health of the School of Health Sciences, who participate in the Fogarty Clean Air Education and Research Program, presented the work done in the current stage within their doctoral thesis.
