On May 30, the University of Georgia hosted the Quantum Technologies Conference 2026, bringing together researchers, academics, students, technology professionals, and international participants to discuss one of the most transformative scientific fields of our time—quantum technologies.

Organized by the University of Georgia’s Center for Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence, the conference served as an important platform for strengthening academic and professional collaboration in quantum science and engineering. The program covered key topics such as quantum computing, simulations and algorithms, quantum cryptography, communication, sensing, and quantum materials.

A highlight of the event was the panel discussion “Georgia in the Quantum Era: Challenges and Opportunities,” which explored the country’s potential, existing challenges, and future pathways for developing quantum technologies. The conference marked an important step toward fostering innovation, research, and education in this rapidly evolving field.
