On October 2, 2023, a delegation from the University of Georgia, led by the university's president, Professor Manana Sanadze, visited Goethe University in Frankfurt.
The delegation included Professor Zviad Gabisonia, the Director of the Scientific Research Institute of the University of Georgia, and Professor Tinatin Ghudushauri, the Director of the School of Arts and Humanities.
During the visit, meetings were held with the leadership of Goethe University in Frankfurt, including Professor Thomas Poulsen, Dean of the Faculty of Culture and Linguistics, and Professor Gerd Carling, Director of the Research Institute for Empirical Linguistics.
The discussions revolved around enhancing cooperation between the Tamaz Beradze Institute of Georgian Studies at the University of Georgia and the Frankfurt Institute of Empirical Linguistics. The parties also explored potential collaborations in Horizon Europe projects and local grant initiatives.
Furthermore, they discussed new opportunities for facilitating the mobility of researchers from the University of Georgia and the development of joint doctoral and master's programs.
